The Suhr Select Classic S Roasted Neck guitars are an exclusive collaboration between Humbucker Music and Suhr and is available in very limited numbers.

As one of Suhr's largest dealers in the world, we designed this Custom Classic S run to bring the craftsmanship and quality of Suhr's Custom line of guitars to a more attractive price while providing the player with some of Suhr's most popular appointments. If you were to custom order is guitar from Suhr it would cost $4150 with an approximate 14 month lead time.

Starting with the highly regarded Classic S, and building on the massive success of our previous runs, we decided to recreate this run with a few changes. This Select run features the highly desired Roasted Maple Neck, but we also added beautiful Abalone Dot Inlays. Aesthetically, we chose to go with a Parchment Pickguard on this guitar. One of the big changes we made for this Select run is the headstock.  We had MANY people requesting the Suhr Hybrid headstock (which we loved on our Classic S Vintage Run from a while back) so we decided to add that to this run.

Our Classic S Roasted Select features low noise Suhr V60LP and a SSV pickups with SSCII electronics, stainless steel frets and modern hardware like Suhr Locking Tuners and our favorite bridge for a S guitar, the Wilkinson WVS 130 Tremolo Bridge! We also spec'd these with a Push/Push pot to split the bridge pickup for a total of 7 tonal possibilities! Bonus!

And of course, each Classic S Roasted Select goes through the same renowned individual setup process that $10-15k Suhr Custom guitars go through. For the money, these guitars simply CANNOT be beat.

Each is built with a two-piece alder body. Alder is known for its rich low and mid-range tonal qualities as well as its lighter overall weight, especially when roasted. Suhr takes great care in finishing the body with an ultra "Thin Skin" urethane finish, allowing for the wood to resonate freely while still providing plenty of protection to ensure the longevity of these guitars.

The neck is made from beautiful roasted maple and features a vintage 60's C  Vintage Standard shape with medium stainless steel frets. The frets feature rolled edges and a 9"-12" compound radius, great for smooth bends. These appointments create a comfortable, fast feeling neck with long lasting playability.

Every V60LP pickup is hand-built, precisely wound (using Suhr's proprietary winding process) The V60LP pickups faithfully recreate the classic single-coil sounds of the 60's. These pickups also use the same magnets that were used in the pickups made during this era. What you get are clear bell-like highs, warm and punchy mids, and big yet firm lows that are the hallmark of great vintage pickups, which aren't as common as one might be led to believe. John Suhr examined a variety of vintage pickups and found that some sound much better than others and took apart the great ones to find out why, measuring the gauss of the magnets to counting the number of turns of the coil wires. The V60LP replicates the handwound pattern of some early-60's single-coil pickups and impart sweeter and rounder highs.

The V60LP pickups are calibrated for each position, including for the middle position with reverse winding and reverse polarity.

The V60LP Middle Pickup is RWRP (reverse wound, reverse polarity)

The SSV Humbucker in the bridge has a broad sonic aperture with very little compression, making for a dynamic, vintage output humbucker. The SSV is a versatile pickup that combines the warmth of a vintage humbucker with increased clarity and definition. The SSV Bridge is wound a bit hotter for more output, increased sustain and a sweet midrange response.
