The Suhr Modern Select guitars are a collaboration between Humbucker Music and Suhr and is available in very limited numbers. As one of Suhr's largest dealers in the world, we designed this Custom Modern Select run to bring the craftsmanship and quality of Suhr's Modern Custom line of guitars to a more attractive price while providing the player with some of Suhr's most popular appointments. If you were to custom order this guitar, the cost would be $4050 with an 8-10 month lead time. Get this at a ridiculous price while you can.

BUT DON'T GET US WRONG... This is not a "pro series" Suhr guitar. This is essentially a custom built Suhr with some of our favorite specs, such as mahogany body and neck (Okoume and Khaya), custom finishes such as Quilts, Burls, and Spalted Maples, and a Suhr hardshell case (something you typically don't see on anything but a custom).

Utilizing an African Okoume Mahogany body for lighter weight and resonance, an African Khaya Mahogany neck for strength and stability, and a beautifully chosen maple top, a fat, well-balanced tone can be had that produces smooth sounds without any harsh overtones. The finishing process provides an unparalleled combination of protection and beauty, while the thinnest possible coats of finish are applied to allow the wood to resonate freely and still provide ample protection.

Each Modern Pro is equipped with a Modern Elliptical neck profile, rolled edges and a 10-14” compound fingerboard radius that offers a comfortable shape. The mahogany neck is finished in satin acrylic urethane, which provides protection from moisture and smooth playing. Each Modern Select includes jumbo stainless steel frets and by using the PLEK process on each instrument, it guarantees the best possible string action, optimized playability and eliminates intonation problems plagued by many guitars.

About the Select Series: So what is the difference between a Suhr Modern Custom and a Suhr Modern Select? Essentially, nothing! The Modern Select is a fixed spec guitar with different finishes. With Suhr Custom guitars, you can practically customize every spec of your guitar. Humbucker Music's Suhr Modern Select guitars use the most common specs requested by players, allowing the EXACT same quality as a Custom, but at a better price.

About the pickups in this guitar:

SSV Neck: Used by top pros who need to duplicate the great classic sounds of a bygone era, the SSV pickups have a broad sonic aperture with very little compression artifacts that afflict typical high-output pickups. The SSV has a bit more honk and snarl than the competitors. 30 years of research and development by John Suhr assure you the quality of experience and workmanship behind each one of their pickups.

ML Middle: The flagship of Suhr's highly-touted single-coil pickup line, the ML incorporates the best qualities of various vintage pickups in a single design. Designed by John Suhr in conjunction with input from LA studio legend and solo artist Mike Landau, the ML sounds big and full while retaining the detailed high-end sparkle and the big tight lows of the best vintage pickups. components, these pickups complement the characteristics of the woods in your guitar.

SSH+ Bridge: Suhr's standard high-output pickup. From warm and clear clean sounds to classic rock to high-energy jazz-rock fusion to 80's metal. Using highest grade hand-selected Alnico magnets and premium components
