Get your Suhr Select Standard Roasted Guitar at Humbucker Music, the largest stocking dealer of Suhr guitars in the world with over 150 for sale and in stock now!

The Suhr Select Standard Roasted Neck guitars are a collaboration between Humbucker Music and Suhr and is available in very limited numbers. This run has only subtle, yet we feel significant, differences from the popular Standard models. The Roasted Maple neck is more stable and lighter in weight providing more sustain to your notes. It also has a visually darker aesthetic to it giving a more aged look. We also went with the same Wilkinson Bridge used by Pete Thorn on his signature model, and well as Raw Nickel covers for the SSH+ Bridge pickup and a Tortoise Shell  pickguard with Black knobs.

The Suhr Standard Guitar is a great value for someone looking for the very best craftsmanship and quality they can find at this price level. The Standard is a sleek take on the classic Stratocaster design. The body is slightly downsized when compared to a strat. It has a sharper radius on the edges and slightly longer horns to give it a modern, yet classy look.

These guitars are light, toneful and perfectly balanced. Utilizing an Alder body, traditional and familiar tones can be achieved that produce smooth sounds without any harsh overtones. The finishing process provides an unparalleled combination of protection and beauty, while the thinnest possible coats of finish are applied to allow the wood to resonate freely and still provide ample protection.

The Suhr Select Standard is equipped with Suhr's much loved Even C Slim profile. Rolled edges and a 10-14" compound fingerboard radius offers a substantial, yet comfortable shape. The Roasted Maple neck is finished in satin acrylic urethane, which provides protection from moisture and smooth playing. Each Standard also includes heavy stainless steel frets and is set up by some of best in the industry guarantying the best possible string action and optimized playability eliminating intonation problems plagued by many guitars.

About the pickups in this guitar:

The bridge position features the SSH+ Humbucker. A high output humbucker, the SSH+ covers a broad musical base with musicality, punch, authority, and tone. The pickup exhibits excellent harmonic content, lots of midrange and a focused low end. Well suited for classic rock to metal. Magnet: Alnico V, DC Resistance: ~ 17KΩ, Hook Up Wire: 4-Conductor

V60 Neck and Middle: The V60 pickups faithfully recreate the classic single-coil sounds of the 60’s. These pickups use the same magnets that were used in the pickups made during this era. What you get are clear bell-like highs, warm and punchy mids, and big yet firm lows that are the hallmark of great vintage pickups. The V60 pickups incorporate a modified staggered pole piece design to provide an even magnetic field needed to accommodate instruments with flatter neck radius and today’s string gauges. Magnet: Alnico V Special, DC Resistance:
~ 6.3KΩ (neck), ~ 6.3KΩ (middle) RW/RP
If you're thinking about purchasing this guitar, here are some things you should know:

Suhr essentially has two ways they build guitars. Every guitar that leaves their factory is either a one off custom built guitar, or it's part of a small production run of guitars where each spec (body shape, wood type, fingerboard radius, neck carve, pickups, etc) is the same, but only the color is different. In both cases, the EXACT same people construct, paint, and setup the guitars. These small runs allow many things to happen to reduce the price of the guitar, but IN NO WAY sacrifice quality. In other words, if you decided you wanted a custom guitar from Suhr and you requested the exact same specs as a Classic S in Olympic White ($2999), you would receive the exact same guitar as a production run Classic S in Olympic White, but you'd pay around $3750, which is about 25% more.

Of course, there's nothing strange going on here. It's just a matter of the time and effort it takes to select different wood, retool machines, change out hardware, wiring differences, clean the paint booth guns, etc each time a custom guitar is ran through. It's just more efficient to run guitars in numbers, so Suhr is able to reduce the price and pass that to the customer. Again, IN NO WAY has any compromises been made. What that boils down to is if a production Suhr's specs meets your needs and desires, it's a no-brainer. Buy that guitar. A custom Suhr will be no different in quality. With that said, all of our Humbucker Music exclusive Suhr Select guitars are essentially custom guitars, but since they are ran all at the same time, we were able to negotiate better pricing for our customers than a custom price. It's a true win/win for everyone!

So, we just wanted to explain that if you like the specs on this guitar (which we and Suhr carefully selected together), then again, it's a no-brainer.

Naturally, if you have any questions about this or any other Suhr guitar please feel free to reach out. We're more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
