Get your Suhr Select Standard Mahogany Guitar at Humbucker Music! We have one of the largest inventories of Suhr guitars in the world with a huge selection to choose from.

We're truly excited about this run! The Suhr Select Standard Mahogany guitars are a collaboration between Humbucker Music and Suhr and is available in very limited numbers. This run has some considerable differences from the popular Standard Plus model. The body and neck are upgraded Genuine Mahogany instead of Basswood and Maple. The fingerboard is Ebony as opposed to Pao Ferro, the dots are all upgraded Abalone and we chose Thornbucker / Thornbucker Plus pickups (perfect for a mahogany body), which includes a Push/Pull pot to parallel the two pickups. We also went with the same Wilkinson Bridge used by Pete Thorn on his signature model, the Wilkinson WVS-130.

The Select Standard Mahogany is equipped with Suhr's much loved Even C Slim profile. The rolled edges and a 10-14" compound fingerboard radius offers a substantial, yet comfortable shape. The Mahogany neck is finished in satin acrylic urethane, which provides protection from moisture and smooth playing. Each guitar also includes heavy stainless steel frets and is set up by some of the industry's finest insuring the best possible string action, optimized playability and intonation.

So what is the difference between a Suhr Custom and a Suhr Select Standard? Nothing at all! The Select Standard is a fixed spec guitar with different finishes. With Suhr Custom guitars, you can practically customize every spec of your guitar. The Select Standard guitars use the most common specs requested by players, allowing the EXACT same quality as a Custom, but at a better price.

About the Pickups in this Guitar:

Thornbucker+ Bridge: A slightly hotter versions of the ever popular Thornbucker designed out of a need for a no-compromise, consistent set of 50's Gibson PAF style pickups with none of the downsides associated with them. 50's Gibson PAF humbucker pickups have long since been coveted for their exceptional tone and ability to play both clean and dirty. With inspiration from Pete Thorn, Suhr has brought us the perfect set of PAF pickups, only a little hotter!

Don't let the price fool you, the Select Standard Mahogany Series is still built to the same quality standards you would expect from a custom Suhr, only we just do them in larger runs to save you a good bit of money. These are made with the same woods, components, hands, and processes that make the custom Suhr guitars. In fact, all of the Select Series are Suhr Custom guitars, only we ordered all forty of these at the same time.

With Suhr Custom Guitars: Each Suhr Custom guitar is built precisely to the customer's specs. Special woods, special inlays, neck shapes, fret sizes, colors, electronics, you name it. That whole process is a lengthy one and requires lots of special attention along the way to insure a custom Suhr is *EXACTLY* as the customer specified. IN addition, the machines that cut cut the necks, bodies, etc have to be reprogrammed for each guitar. The paint shop has to change everything up for each individual guitar. You get the picture.

With Select Standard Mahogany Guitars: The specs are all set and fixed for the entire run. Same body/neck woods, electronics, neck shapes, fret sizes, etc. We get together with Suhr and select the most common specs that customers request (as well as what John Suhr recommends for a Standard Plus) for a specific model, change up the colors and top woods a bit for variation, and do a run of 40+ at a time. But here's where the story gets more interesting... With these guitars, *EVERY* step of the build process is exactly like the Custom build process. The same pickups, hardware, woods, etc are used for the Select series. The same setup crew that does the setups and final finishing on the $10,000 Customs are the guys who do it on the Select Standard Mahogany.

So what does that mean? It means if the build spec for this Select Standard guitar matches what you're wanting, then you'd be crazy not to get it. It's the same guitar. Period. Honestly, it's a steal, and we think people should take advantage of this if it meets your desired specs.
