About the Pickups in this Guitar

V63 pickups are wound to have the same tonal characteristics as those found by John Suhr in a particularly sweet 1963 Strat. The magnets are made by the same company that made the magnets for Fender in the early 60’s and use the exact same formulation and manufacturing process.

V63 pickups incorporate a modified staggered pole piece design to provide an even magnetic field needed to accommodate instruments with flatter neck radius and today’s string gauges.

The DSV Bridge is a warmer version of Suhr's popular SSV humbucker.  Equipped with a double row of screws, and slightly overwound for more output, the DSV offers increased sustain and a smoother top-end response. The DSV Neck is a warmer version of our popular SSV humbucker. Equipped with a double row of screws, the DSV offers a player clarity, definition and a smoother top-end response.
