Introduced in 1962 as Fender’s new top-of-the-line offering, the Jaguar soon rode a wave of popularity as the weapon of choice for surf rock guitarists. With new features including a shorter scale length, shielded higher-output pickups and three pickup switches on the treble side, the Jaguar serves up a most distinctive look and tone.
To honor the great Jaguars of the 60's, Fender Custom Shop has given this one their Deluxe Closet Classic lacquer treatment. The tinted quartersawn maple neck has a comfortable "C" neck profile, topped by a 9.5"-radius rosewood fingerboard and 21 medium jumbo frets. True to its vintage, this striking guitar’s shielded ’62 Jaguar pickups eliminate hum, with ’62 Jaguar wiring and a a Jazzmaster rhythm circuit. Other features include 4-ply tortoise shell brown pickguard, vintage-style Jaguar bridge, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut, and "wing" string tree. Includes deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.
