The Suhr Standard Guitar is a great value for someone looking for the very best craftsmanship and quality they can find at this price level. The Standard is a sleek take on the classic Stratocaster design. The body is slightly downsized when compared to a strat. It has a sharper radius on the edges and slightly longer horns to give it a modern, yet classy look.
About the Standard Series (read this): So what is the difference between a Suhr Custom Standard and a Standard? Nothing! Absolutely nothing. The Standard is a fixed spec guitar with only a few finishes to choose from. It just so happens that the available finishes are the most popular ones. With Suhr Custom guitars, you can practically customize every spec of your guitar. The non-custom guitars use the most common specs requested by players, allowing the EXACT same quality as a Custom, but at a better price. If you're looking to get a Suhr Standard and like the color and specs you see here, then going with a Custom will not benefit you in any way. The same people who build and setup the $10,000 customs are the exact same people that built and setup this guitar.
These guitars are light, toneful and perfectly balanced. Utilizing an Alder body, traditional and familiar tones can be achieved that produce smooth sounds without any harsh overtones. The finishing process provides an unparalleled combination of protection and beauty, while the thinnest possible coats of finish are applied to allow the wood to resonate freely and still provide ample protection.
The Suhr Standard is equipped with Suhr's much loved Even C Slim profile. Rolled edges and a 10-14" compound fingerboard radius offers a substantial, yet comfortable shape. The quartersawn Maple neck is finished in satin acrylic urethane, which provides protection from moisture and smooth playing. Each Standard also includes heavy stainless steel frets and by using the PLEK process on each instrument, it guarantees the best possible string action, optimized playability and eliminates intonation problems plagued by many guitars.

About the pickups in this guitar:
The bridge position features the SSH+ Humbucker. A true high output humbucker, the SSH+ covers a broad musical base with musicality, punch, authority, and tone. The pickup exhibits excellent harmonic content, lots of midrange and a focused low end. Well suited for classic rock or metal. Magnet: Alnico V, DC Resistance: ~ 17KΩ, Hook Up Wire: 4-Conductor
V60 Neck and Middle: The V60 pickups faithfully recreate the classic single-coil sounds of the 60’s. These pickups use the same magnets that were used in the pickups made during this era. What you get are clear bell-like highs, warm and punchy mids, and big yet firm lows that are the hallmark of great vintage pickups, which aren't as common as one might be led to believe. John Suhr examined a variety of vintage pickups and found that some sound much better than others and took apart the great ones to find out why, measuring the gauss of the magnets to counting the number of turns of the coil wires. The V60 replicates the handwound pattern of some early-60's single-coil pickups and impart sweeter and rounder highs.
