Since the Morgan Abbey 20 is essentially a Vox Top Boost channel amp, it's a slightly higher wattage version of the original Abbey, with the addition of a PULL BRIGHT switch on the Volume control, and Morgan's power scaling making it equally viable on the stage as it is at bedroom levels.

Being a Top Boost circuit, it breaks up nicely and has a very useable gain range, making it quite user friendly for those that like to ride the line between clean and dirty depending on pick attack.  It sounds great with the Celestion G12H30, but really screams chimey Vox with the preferred Celestion Alnico Blue.

A little history of the
Morgan Abbey 20...
This circuit originally came from some mods that Joe did to his Abbey, and has been used a few times Morgan as specialty amps for different stores.  It was known previously as the DAG15, which was offered in Morgan's smaller enclosure.  Over the past couple years, Joe has made some small tweaks here and there, and now offers this amp as the Abbey 20 which comes in Morgan's full sized enclosure (24x20.75x10) giving it a bit more bottom end than the smaller cabs used in the earlier versions.

So, in a nutshell, here's what we have with the Abbey 20...  a 15 watt Top Boost Channel with superior components and Power Scaling.
