Bad Cat Unleash V2 Attenuator / Re-Amplifier
- DESCRIPTION
The Bad Cat Unleash was the world's first Re-amplifier/Attenuator, and as you probably know, it hit the guitar playing world by storm.
Well, the Unleash just got better! Introducing the new Unleash V2, with new features such as switchable impedance on the reactive load input, silent recording options, and headphone outputs & speaker phase selector. Also, Bad cat added an error-proof circuit protection to guard against incorrect connection damage. The Unleash V2 no longer requires Speakon style cables. All speaker outs are now 1/4 inch!
The Unleash V2 still offers foot switchable dual channels and a very handy effects loop. So, whether you are trying to attenuate your 100-watt beast or drag your favorite 1-watt along to the gig, the Unleash V2 will keep your sound intact, regardless of the night's volume requirements.
This minuscule little device can turn your devastating 100 watt head down to bedroom levels, AND boost your 1 watt amp so that even the people in the back of the venue can hear it! Now, no matter what your favorite amp is, you can rest assured that you can get the tone you want at whatever volume level you need.
The Unleash is a "Reactive Load" attenuator. What does this mean? What most common attenuators do is simply pad your signal from the output stage of your amp. A Reactive Load attenuator actually "fools" your amp into thinking it's still attached directly to a speaker. Your amps output will have that great push and squash as if it were working a speaker. The Unleash also offers you TWO entirely separate, and foot switchable, levels. Effectively giving you the ability to have an additional boost after your amps power section. Doing so eliminates the frustration of kicking a boost on into the front end of your amp only to get no noticeable boost, and instead just extra saturation. You can get a transparent and clean boost of volume at any time.
Bad Cat has also seen fit to include an effects loop in the unleash. Now, whether or not your amp had an effects loop to begin, you can take advantage of placing your time based effects after the overdriven signal of your amp; and at the very end is a handy direct out. This let's you send a direct signal to board or record directly to an interface with a line level signal from your amps power section.
