The Two-Rock Studio Pro Plus

Please Note:  This is not replacing the Studio Pro series.  The Studio Pro is without doubt the most popular amp in the entire Two-Rock line, and our favorite around the shop (particularly the Studio Pro 35), so it's not going anywhere.  The new Studio Pro Plus builds on the successful Studio Pro series by adding two distinct features:

1) A footswitchable all tube tremolo.  Those familiar with the Matt Schofield Signature can attest to the impressive tremolo Two-Rock uses.
2) Two-Rock's Expansion Control.  Essentially, this is a footswitchable "Tonestack EQ Bypass", where you can bypass the tone pots in the circuit giving your signal a bit of a boost in volume, as well as a touch of gain.

More on this new Expansion control:  This is pretty cool, really.  When you activate this Expansion circuit, you effectively deactivate the tone controls, sending a truer, hotter signal through the preamp.  You also have the Expansion knob that control the bypassed volume.   What this means is you can adjust your volume for this setting when yuo turn it on.  Thus, if you want to use it as a boost for a solo, no problem.  If you want to use it as a way to decrease your volume, you can do that too.  Naturally, when you're in this mode, you have no tone controls, BUT you still have the "Global Contour" control on the back of the amp to shape your overall tone.

Honestly, we feel the Studio Pro is a tremendous value if you're looking for that thick, rich, Two-Rock tone.  It's best described as a Classic Reverb / Custom Clean hybrid, the Studio Pro offers ample clean headroom, dynamics, and a variety of tone shaping options.   Included is the Two-Rock pickup loading feature, which optimizes pickup balance between single coil and humbuckers. Their stellar reverb circuit with send and return controls, contour control, and full buffered effects loop are standard on this amp.

The Pickup Loading feature control has 5 settings. In the first position (fully counterclockwise), there is no additional pickup loading, with 4 additional settings available. Fully clockwise(last position) is full loading. Loading the guitar pickup(s) to varying degrees changes the impedance relationship between the pickup and the amplifier's first gain stage. Loading reduces inductive "ringing" in the pickup coils. The effect is a more controlled high frequency response and a reduction in high frequency artifacts produced when a pickup's magnets and coils feed back with each other, usually at or near the pickup's saturation point. The damping effect will also reduce the gain, which is normal. Tonally speaking, reducing these artifacts results in a cleaner waveform and an apparent lack of harshness in the upper frequencies.
