Jake Langston Bio at Humbucker Music I've been here since the doors opened.  In fact, I was the only one back then.  Humbucker Music started out as a dream of mine when I worked in a music store back in college.   A little over ten years ago I took my life's savings and sunk it into a little 1200 square foot store with only enough inventory to keep the doors open and customers dropping by.   The first real company I was a dealer for was FMR Audio (the world famous RNC Compressor and RNP Preamp).  Mark and Beth McQuilken thought enough of me for some reason to allow me to become a dealer back in the early days.  Well...  I got very lucky.  Their line took off and I sold their products as fast as they could make them.  That allowed me to take on more and more lines until we grew into the company we are today.  While we sell tons of different brands today, I'll never forget the blessing it was to have them on board with Humbucker Music.

In my spare time I like to collect vintage guitar amps and synths.   I, as well as others, find that a bit amusing since I'm primarily a drummer, but like many drummers, I *really* wish I was a masterful guitar player!  I certainly do find myself playing a good bit more guitar than drums these days, but drums came natural for me.  I have to *really* work at guitar.  :)

Since I was a big fan of the shoegazing sounds of the early 90's, and it's precursors, I have always been very interested in guitar pedals.  I have collected various boutique pedals over the years, and continue to be intrigued to this day.   Humbucker Music has grown it's boutique pedals lines a good bit over the years, and we have no plans of stopping here.  In fact, we are always looking for more lines of pedals, so if you have any suggestions, please let us know!

I also love to record in my basement studio.  I used to work at a studio nearly 20 years ago, and the passion never quite left me.  My studio started out as a hobby back in the day, but I have found myself recording more and more over the years.
Some of the gear I use is:

FMR Audio RNP, RNC, RNLAGreat River MP-2NVs, Emperical Labs Distressors, Blue Mics, Rode Mics, Cubase 5, Mackie HR824 MkII Monitors, Fireface 800 Interface, and numerous other mics, pres, etc.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call us or drop us an email.  We'd love to hear from you!
